DRIVING/WALKING INSTRUCTIONS

In response to popular demand, we have come up with driving/walking
instructions for Virtual Gettysburg. The Virtual Gettysburg CD-ROM was
initially designed for those times when you are not on the battlefield
but wish to experience the thrill of touring Gettysburg, or at least something
very close, in the comfort of your home. Also, since there are already
many fine audio driving tours of Gettysburg that follow the park auto
tour route, we designed Virtual Gettysburg with tour stops that are off
the beaten path, not limited by having to be along the park avenues.
Still, many people tell us they enjoy listening to the Virtual Gettysburg
audio tapes and reading the tour book while standing on the battlefield.
So, in response to popular demand, we have come up with driving/walking
instructions that you can print from your computer.
Please enjoy them at your own risk. You will be parking on some busy roads
and hiking through some thick bushes, but we think many will find it worth
the effort. Due to the complexity of the instructions, we recommend you
drive with a navigator.
For one tour we have included a downtown bypass route and for the three
tours about Pickett's Charge we offer an alternative walking route for
those who wish to walk the entire route of the Confederate advance.
