Gettysburg's New Museum and
Visitor Center Project
Now under construction!
The Gettysburg Foundation, in partnership with the National Park Service at Gettysburg, is working to restore, preserve and enhance the consecrated ground of America's most revered Civil War battlefield.
The new Museum and VisitorCenter is adjacent to the battlefield, but sited at a low point in the terrain so it will not be visible from the major interpretive points. Located near the intersection of Hunt Avenue and Baltimore Pike, a short distance from the current visitor center, the new facility is on ground that saw no major battle action. It will open to visitors in early 2008.

Annual Civil War Park Day
On Saturday, April 7, 2007, volunteers throughout the country worked together to clean and repair the grounds at over 100 Civil War sites. Approximately 4,000 volunteers played a vital role in sustaining these parks, providing more than 12,000 hours of service. Check back to find out the date of next year's Park Day.
