July 1. In position at first on the ridge west of Herr's Tavern but moved later to a hill east of Willoughby Run about 500 yards from the Union batteries and from that point fired upon the Union infantry with much effect although itself exposed to a heavy fire of canister.
July 2. Occupied this position early in the morning and was engaged at intervals in firing upon the Union lines and batteries.
July 3. Actively participated in all the operations of the artillery including the cannonade preceding Longstreet's assault.
July 4. Withdrew about sunset and began the march to Hagerstown.
